Shall we play a game? This week Curtis, Erin, and Gabe (AKA the DEFCON 3) dust off our modems, reboot our AOL accounts and discuss the perfect way to butter an ear of corn! We also share our first encounters with computers before we dial into 1983’s WarGames. Pre-“Bueller” Matthew Broderick stars as a high school computer hacker who finds himself at the center of an International incident all because he wanted to order a WOPR online in a pre-DoorDash world. WarGames remains remarkably relevant in light of our current focus on AI, addressing enduring issues that continue to challenge us today. (And don’t take our word for it: Chat GPT wrote that last sentence, so it must be true!)
